To avoid accumulating student debt and gain practical experience, many are seeking alternative paths. Luckily, the Insurance Practitioner Apprenticeship programme offers a solution. In partnership with ATU Sligo and LIA, The Insurance Institute has created a unique programme that allows you to study for a level 8 degree while earning money and building a career in the insurance industry. This is the first apprenticeship of its kind, offering a three-year path to a prestigious qualification.

A new report which analyses Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) knowledge and skillset requirements within the Irish insurance industry has been launched today.

Commissioned by the Sustainable Finance Skillnet and produced by KPMG, the report, ‘Insurance industry ESG knowledge and skills analysis 2023’, is the result of an industry-wide collaboration between Brokers Ireland, LIA, the Insurance Institute, and Insurance Ireland. Report development was supported by Skillnet Ireland.

A new course focusing on climate risk has been launched for financial services and insurance professionals.

The Certificate in Climate Risk, run by the Insurance Institute, aims to provide those working in insurance or financial services with the knowledge and understanding of how their sectors will function during the transition to a sustainable, low carbon world.

Online learning has exploded in recent years – we are seeing organisations – from world-renowned educational institutions and Universities to global corporations adopting it and, in many cases, choosing it over the traditional learning classroom model. It’s estimated that by 2025, the global EdTech market will be worth $350 Billion and this is backed up by research which shows that students or learners retain 25–60% more information when learning online compared to 8–10% in the classroom.
