You asked. We listened. They heard! We were recently awarded ‘Best Online Learning Experience’ at the Education Awards. We couldn’t be prouder to receive the accolade, particularly as it reinforces the work we have been doing on your behalf as a result of your feedback. Read on to find out more.
The award submission focussed on the 4 main areas of The Institute’s digital transformation in recent years which are its culture, digital strategy and vision, digital expertise and organisational structure. One key part of this vision involved the trialling of an innovative learning and gamification app called ‘Quitch’ which was initially used for students undertaking the Nature of Insurance (CIP01) module as part of their Accredited Product Advisor (APA) qualification. As a result of its success (of those who engaged with the app, a success rate of 96% was reported compared to the overall success rate of 74%) and increased student engagement (at its peak, 10,000 questions were attempted), it has been decided that the app will be rolled out and available to all students undertaking the APA with the Institute from September 2021.
Commenting on the announcement, Paula Hodson, Director of Development Services and Education at The Insurance Institute said, “We are delighted to announce that we’ll be utilising the Quitch app across a number of our educational modules – it has been a fantastic addition to our digital capabilities and the feedback and engagement with students has been hugely positive. This coupled with the additional strides we are taking in the area of digital transformation signifies a hugely exciting time in learning and education. Never before has the way in which we deliver content and knowledge been so innovative and student centric. I’m extremely proud of the efforts we have made at the Institute to ensure we are bringing our students the best and most innovative learning experience. We were recently awarded ‘Best Online Learning Experience’ at The Education Awards, and this is testament to our efforts to harness mobile technology to better engage with our students.”
